The Aven and Bélon rias: a unique heritage to explore
In the south of Finistère, the Aven and Bélon rias are inlets of the sea that run deep inland, creating an incomparably gentle landscape. These winding estuaries combine wooded valleys, nestling harbours and legendary oyster beds.
The Aven ria leads to Pont-Aven, the city of painters where Paul Gauguin set up his easel, while the Bélon reveals its famous flat oysters and authentic fishing port. From the boat, you can discover riverside castles, tide mills, picturesque villages and an abundance of wildlife that changes with the tides.
