Discover our Plankton Apéro outings

Do you know the plankton ? We suggest a sea outing to discover the microscopic organisms that live in the oceans, with an accompanying small snack (kir breton and a small delicacy).

Discovering marine microfauna

The «Apéro Plancton» outing is a maritime excursion along the Ria de l'Aven and at sea, during which we organise plankton fishing, with an aperitif on board.

Fishing is carried out using a plankton net with very fine meshes to collect micro-organisms that are invisible to the naked eye (plant and animal plankton). This microscopic fauna is then observed using an electron microscope with a digital screen. It's live observation of the underwater world!

With our nature guide Nathalie, discover the secrets of plankton

For this excursion, we are accompanied by Nathalie Delliou, A nature guide from the Concarneau area who will give you all the explanations you need about these microscopic inhabitants of the underwater world. From identification sheets will be on hand to help you identify the species of phytoplankton or zooplankton you see during our outing. Children and adults alike will enjoy this educational outing in close touch with nature!
